The programme of the 24th Istanbul Jazz Festival was announced at a press conference held on the evening of Tuesday, 28 March at Zorlu PSM, the Festival’s “Venue Sponsor with the Highest Contribution”. Speakers of the conference were Chairman of the Board of İKSV Bülent Eczacıbaşı, President & CEO of Garanti Bank Fuat Erbil, Director of the Istanbul Jazz Festival Pelin Opcin, and Assistant Director of the Istanbul Jazz Festival Harun İzer.

Chairman of İKSV Bülent Eczacıbaşı said, “İKSV is celebrating its 45th anniversary in 2017. We hope that this year, just as in the past 45, our festival program will create opportunities for discovery, new ideas and experiences, positive emotions, and personal renewal in the commotion of daily life. We expect the 24th Istanbul Jazz Festival, which will offer more than 20 concerts between July 4th and July 20th, to enrich the lives of the tens of thousands of people who attend these events while further advancing the cultural life of our city. Notably, Garanti Jazz Green is also celebrating its 20th anniversary. We are deeply grateful to our festival sponsor Garanti Bank for its support over the past 20 years, because continuity of sponsorship is critical for the healthy development of culture and the arts. Garanti Bank is not just İKSV’s unwavering supporter, it is our steadfast partner on our journey to achieve our goals. I would also like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to the many other institutions and individuals that make this festival possible and contribute to its success, including our treasured friends in the media who work hard to communicate our events and activities.”

President & CEO of Garanti Bank Fuat Erbil said, “We have gathered here for the jazz music but I would like to thank İKSV in the first place, not just for their contribution to the jazz music itself, but also for all the contributions they have made to the culture and art life of our country for the past 45 years. Besides supporting the social development of Turkey, İKSV is also working hard for Turkey to be a point of attraction in the fields of culture and arts by bringing many different disciplines together with art lovers through international festivals and events. Istanbul Jazz Festival is one of the most important activities İKSV undertakes with great devotion and dedication. This year, as a part of this success story, we are proud to have been supporting Istanbul Jazz Festival for 20 years. We are enthusiastically supporting Istanbul Jazz Festival, which enables jazz music to be loved by a wider audience in our country, with our ‘Garanti Jazz Green’ brand. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Bülent Eczacıbaşı, Görgün Taner, and Pelin Opcin in particular, who have been making a great effort realising Istanbul Jazz Festival, as well as all the IKSV team and volunteers. As the previous years, I once more wish you a successful and enjoyable Jazz Festival.” In his speech, Erbil also announced that by taking inspiration from the idea of “Culture&Art Card” that İKSV has presented to 1.000 university students at its 45th year, Garanti Caz Yeşili brand will also be giving 100 university couples a free entrance to a concert that they prefer at the festival. The winners will be drawn from among the applicants who give the right answer to the question that will be asked on social media as a part of the competition. The travel and accommodation expenses for the winners living outside Istanbul will also be covered by Garanti Bank.
