Süheyl Denizci became retired on 15 February 1997 from his position as the Conductor of the TRT Istanbul Pop Music and Jazz Orchestra, which he had started in 1982 by actually taking part in creating the Orchestra itself. Hence, at the end of his 15-year career of ceaseless and intense endeavor, he has achieved to elevate the Orchestra to universal standards in terms of its technique, its musicality and its repertoire. Süheyl Denizci died on March 25, 2007.
