Festival director Harun İzer was selected to the WOMEX jury system

WOMEX, one of the most important music fairs in the world, announced the official jury members one of whom is Harun İzer, the director of Istanbul Jazz festival. The official programme for the 26th edition of the event takes place from 21 – 25 October in Budapest, Hungary.

The WOMEX jury system was established in 1999, and its annually changing jurors - like the participants of the WOMEX programme itself - come from all over the world. Representing eight countries, these three women and four men are music veterans with varied expertise, working as music journalists, DJs, radio broadcasters, booking agents, festival directors and much more, who each brings with them their respective musical knowledge, background and forward-thinking ideas. Once all the proposals have been submitted, the jury members will determine the official showcase and conference selection.

Jordana Leigh (USA), director, David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center
Marco Perales (Spain), co-founder, CityZen Music
Sarah Coxson (UK), lead booking agent and artistic adviser at Alan Bearman Music, former deputy/reviews editor at fRoots magazine
