The album Young Jazz 21 features a track from each of the bands Cazcuz, August, Deniz Akan Trio, Gökhan Ulusoy Trio and Kick the Switch. The young jazz musicians were mentored by master musicians Volkan Öktem, Önder Focan, Önder Focan, Selen Gülün, Cenk Erdoğan and Okan Kaya during the recordings, which were made at Babajım Istanbul Studios with the support of the Mehmet Uluğ Fund. Arın Baykurt is the recording and mixing engineer and Güven Ersoysal is the mastering engineer of the album. Album photographs are by photographer Muhsin Akgün and introduction texts are by Burak Sülünbaz.

The Young Jazz 21 Selection Committee consisted of musician Aycan Teztel, musician Cenk Erdoğan, music writer Leyla Diana Gücük, musician Kalben, musician Selen Gülün, musician Volkan Öktem, radio programmer Dr. Hakan Rauf Tüfekçi, writer Yekta Kopan, Sony Music Turkey General Manager Özden Bora, music professional Ahmet Uluğ and Istanbul Jazz Festival Director Harun İzer.
