Considered one of the biggest bands of the contemporary alternative rock scene, Blonde Redhead is formed of Japanese Kazu Makino and Italian twins, Simone and Amadeo Pace. Coming together in New York in the early 90s, it is perhaps to this melting pot of geographical origins that they owe their bewitching musical style. Since their formation, they have released seven albums, and succeeded in drawing a considerable mass of dedicated listeners. They are particularly known for their dramatically-named albums such as Melody of Certain Damaged Lemons and Misery Is A Butterfly and songs like “Elephant Woman” and “Falling Man”. The trio released their two latest albums through the famous independent record label, 4AD. Getting back on the scene with their last release, 23, Blonde Redhead’s music is sometimes a fusion of a dark and melancholic style and sometimes mystical and more energetic.
