The Bosphorus Project gets its inspiration from the idea that “The most important common denominator for Turkish music and jazz is improvisation.” The group uses harmonies of Turkish music originating from Istanbul to create an original form of jazz. Fronted by Önder Focan, The Bosphorus Project boasts a repertoire of Turkish tunes by musicians from Istanbul, as well as Focan’s own compositions with the same style and approach. One of France’s renowned jazz musicians, tenor saxophonist Stéphane Spira will be joining the Project in this performance. Spira gathers Rock and Arabic music with jazz.
