ALLA SIDOROVA AND MUSICA VIVA ACADEMIC CHAMBER ORCHESTRA

Two of Russia’s most significant groups will be sharing the stage as part of Russian Culture Year in Turkey. The world-famous Russian pianist and arranger composer, Sergey Zhilin and his Phonograph Big-Band, will be performing alongside the successful Musica Viva orchestra. Audiences will be able to feast their ears on their interpretations of popular musical masterpieces of the twentieth-century. Sergey Zhilin has come to be known throughout jazz circles in both Europe and the US, as a pianist, composer and arranger. Following his success in classical music, Zhilin started working in the field of jazz, forming the Phonograph Big-Band. This orchestra is a group of young musicians whose musical range brings together different styles from classic jazz to funk, jazz-rock to fusion. Musica Viva and one of the most talented vocals of the Russian jazz scene, Alla Sidorova will accompany the band, as they take us through some of the 20th century’s most popular jazz standards, including, “Autumn Leaves”, “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes”, “Spain” and “Round Midnight”.
