Bringing to life songs of legendary female singers of jazz, folk, R&B, gospel and blues, “Sing the Truth!” is a fascinating project. With songs of recently deceased Miriam Makeba, Abbey Lincoln and Odetta, as well as Lauryn Hill, Tracy Chapman, and Aretha Franklin, the stars of the project will put on stage the impressive tradition of Afro-American female singers.
