NIGHT OUT

19.30-“Lahza” Cenk Erdoğan & İkiz
21.00-Kolektif İstanbul
22.30-Ceylan Ertem

Club Quartier, the quintessential summer venue in Moda, will be hosting Night Out for the third time. The night will start with “Lahza”-which means in the blink of an eye- a project that brings together drummer Mehmet Ikiz and guitarist Cenk Erdoğan. The duo released their debut album, in which they develop improvisations into algorithms, through Stockholm Jazz Records, founded by Ikiz, and unlike the title of their project, they present musical projections that won’t be forgotten in the blink of an eye, but instead will stay in your mind for years.

After swaying between moments of tranquility and intensity with Lahza, the stage will be taken over by Kolektif Istanbul, who will up the tempo considerably with their lively Balkan melodies. The band played many international festivals including Montreux, and is the kind of band that gets wild as they play and gets better as they get wild.

The closing act of the night Ceylan Ertem, who is legendary for her performances that speak to a diverse array of music lovers, will once again bring audiences to their feet and join her in jubilant sing-alongs.

NIGHT OUT

20.00-Big Beats Big Times featuring Jakub Kurek
21.30-Jakuzi
23.15-Gevende

You will definitely not want to leave Moda Sahnesi, where established acts of their respective genres come together during Night Out, and want to take notes on how to do justice to the event.
From every local band’s favorite wildcard drummer Berke Can Özcan comes Big Beats Big Times, a project that consists of a dream team of drummers guaranteed to make you feel like you’re watching the film Whiplash in live action.

You might be one of the lucky audience members to catch one of the drumsticks after the band’s performance, but don’t be too distracted because Jakuzi, the buzziest band of the year who brought back synth pop to the masses will take over the stage. After becoming the darlings of the alternative scene following their summer smash of a first single “Koca Bir Saçmalık”, the band wasted no time in moving towards international recognition by signing with Berlin based City Slang Records and embarking on a European tour in May.

At Moda Sahnesi, the venue that quenches your thirst for more good music, the final act will be Gevende, one of the leading bands of the alternative scene. The band, known as masters of improvisation, has recently played a series of sold-out dates following the release of their highly anticipated new album Kırınardı. For those who missed out on these concerts or for those looking for an encore Gevende is playing the Night Out.

NIGHT OUT

19.30-Özgün Semerci
21.00-Yakaza Ensemble

The proceedings at All Saints, the most idiosyncratic venue on the roster of Night Out, will start with Özgün Semerci, who had a devoted punk following for years as the lead vocalist of Second. Semerci’s new solo project is a departure from the hardcore punk rock sound of his band, but despite being a more muted affair than his previous output it still winks at acoustic punk pop buoyed by his vocal and guitar technique. Semerci has released Bulandı Sularım in 2016 which found him working with Taner Yücel- one half of Jakuzi- on guitar, percussion and mixing.

Following Semerci the church will host a band that fits in perfectly with its atmosphere. With Yakaza Ensemble, who takes a psychedelic, dense, multi instrumental musical journey inspired by different cultures, we will ascend towards the spiritual ranks of the church.
