ANATOLIAN TALES, JAZZ MELODIES

Musician Jülide Özçelik has strong ties to the music of these lands, yet she is equally strong in presenting these melodies at universal standards. This time, Özçelik is on stage with songs from her album Nefes, which she describes as ‘a place where people will put their mind at ease and relax’. Popular names of the local jazz music scene Ediz Hafızoğlu, Kağan Yıldız, Ercüment Orkut, Barış Doğukan Yazıcı accompany Özçelik with their instruments as she delivers her interpretations of folk songs. The other guest of the night is pianist Bilge Günaydın, who offers colourful journeys to music lovers with her compositions and arrangements. During the concert, which is also an occasion to celebrate the release of her first album Daydreams, the pianist briefly takes away the audience from the fast pace of life and opens the doors of her tranquil world.

The concert was recorded on 15 September.
