Born in 1974, Madeleine Peyroux can be thought of as a Billie Holiday for the 1990s. She released her stunning debut album ‘Dreamland’ in 1996 featuring a cast of top players from the New York jazz scene such as Cyrus Chestnut, Leon Parker, Vernon Reid, Marc Ribot, and James Carter. It is pronounced by Time magazine as “the most exciting, involving vocal performance by a new singer this year.” Having shared the same stage with Sarah McLachlan and Cesaria Evora, Peyroux released in 2004 her second album “Careless Love”, which had sold a million copies. Jazz and blues tunes from this very talented musician with a very unique voice will be unforgettable.
