Teoman plays his darkest songs in their darkest forms

Teoman is a writer who inhales Istanbul and exhales the city into his songs. Although he has been influenced mainly by rock music since his legendary rock band Indians took to the stage in Beyoğlu, as the years passed on and with his brand-new songs, he has turned to a singer-songwriter reminiscent of one of his idols, Leonard Cohen. The songwriter’s career, which has also paid tribute to the style of Serge Gainsbourg from time to time, has been filled with many commercially successful songs. He is one of Turkey’s biggest rock stars. In 2018, Teoman brought together 26 of his songs that match each other and create harmony in his Koyu Antoloji [Dark Anthology] album. We listened to Teoman’s tragic, ordinary and magical stories in the album, which presents his hit songs as well as his lesser-known compositions with new and serene arrangements. This is the concert to witness a recap of 10 albums steadily distilled with music, cinema and authorship. Let’s meet at the Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theatre on the evening of July 6 to share the very special stories that Teoman has accumulated over his 21-year career.
