A master clarinetist who loves discovery

The inspired virtuoso clarinetist Yom has devoted himself to exploring different musical aesthetics. He is a versatile artist who is not only proficient in a single genre but has full knowledge of many musical sensibilities. The diversity in his music, ranging from the Klezmer to electronic music, from Americana to contemporary and classical music, has a singular purpose: to touch the human spirit. Believing that music is a spirit spread throughout the world, on a journey of discovery without limiting himself to borders, Yom plays his instrument instinctively. The musician’s 11th studio album, Celebration, is enlivened with meditative rhythms. Yom was confined to his studio due to the pandemic. The outcome was new percussion added from scratch on top of Léo Jassef’s piano recordings, resulting in songs with a new perspective. Clarinet virtuoso Yom, who cares about opening doors to different worlds and the mind and soul’s journey through music above all else, will be taking the festival audience on a world tour this time at the Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall.
