Night route on the streets of Kadıköy
Dorock XL, Kadıköy Cinema and The Wall to see the performances of Duman’s bass guitarist Ari Barokas, who has proven what an successful songwriter and composer he is with the simple yet profound songs of his solo project; Evdeki Saat, which views Turkish alternative pop from a songwriting perspective; the quintet Another Bitches Brew, who continue to draw inspiration from Miles Davis’ Bitches Brew and Herbie Hancock’s Mwandishi periods; Barış Demirel “BD Experience” who reveals his jazz, ambient and folk-based alternative language with his trumpet and vocals; Sababa 5, an Israeli quintet that approaches Mediterranean Arab music from a progressive perspective; Taşra Üçlemesi Caz Projesi known for their improvised compositions based on 11 scenes selected from the Palme d’Or-winning director Nuri Bilge Ceylan’s first three films Kasaba, Mayıs Sıkıntısı and Uzak; Dilan Balkay whose warm vocals accompany her electro-acoustic trumpet melodies, the dream-pop band The Flabbies, which has been incredibly productive in 2022; Düşün, who has brought some positivity to our alternative music with their fresh and warm melodies; and Yalnayak, an alternative ensemble that draws attention with their oriental take on psychedelic space-funk and rock fusion, will be with us on various stages in Kadıköy. Let’s meet on the streets of Kadıköy for the most vibrant night of the festival.
