Jazz on the terrace of a well-established school amid lush greenery
Having received excellent reviews for her 2022 album Waking World which tells the humble stories of today’s people’s lives, Youn Sun Nah will meet the audience in a gorgeous venue that will host the festival for the first time. The artist, trained in piano and jazz as the daughter of a family of music lovers in Seoul, carried her success to greater heights with her singing training while living in Paris. Praised by the French newspaper Le Figaro, Youn Sun Nah is widely acclaimed for her talent in different music genres and her clear vocals. Throughout her career, which started in South Korea and expanded to Europe, this versatile musician has interpreted pop, rock and jazz from a contemporary perspective and has also been highly regarded for her sensibility towards social issues.
Before the Youn Sun Nah Quartet, we welcome a Robert College graduate, Deniz Taşar, on stage. Singer and songwriter Taşar, who has brought a new breath to jazz vocals in Turkey with her unique vocal attitude and timbre, has completed several successful projects since 2013. Taşar has made music for movies and TV series and performs her art in a wide range, as in the podcast series and exhibition accompanying her latest album, Pişman Olunmayan Dünler. We invite you to Robert College’s Konak Terrace to listen to one of its alums, who has already left a unique mark in the local jazz scene, followed right after by the magical and exciting concert of Youn Sun Nah Quartet.
ACCESS TO THE CONCERT AREA Audiences will be able to enter Robert College from the school's gate in Etiler by showing their tickets and IDs. Transportation to Konak Terrace will be provided by the shuttles waiting at the entrance. Returns to the gate will also be provided by shuttles after the concert. It will not be possible to walk between the concert area and the entrance/exit gate inside the school.
