A Jazz-filled evening at Pera, the age-old heart of Istanbul

On the Golden Horn facing side of Istiklal Avenue, jazz melodies will rise simultaneously from three Pera venues, blending into the enchanting atmosphere of Istanbul. Minoa Pera, in the historical Union Française building designed by the architect Alexandre Vallaury; Pera 77, the budding venue of the Istanbul jazz scene, and Salon İKSV, the address of good music in the city, will be hosting three different artists on the same night. Kristjan Randalu Absence Trio, Can Çankaya Trio and Dilek Sert Erdoğan are among the guests of the Pera Jazz Evening.

Estonian pianist Kristjan Randalu, one of the most sought-after pianists of his generation, hailed as “dazzling” by Herbie Hancock, passionately combines the improvisation of jazz with the tradition of classical music. Randalu, with a discography of over 50 albums, numerous awards, and a Grammy nomination, has collaborated with esteemed musicians ranging from Trygve Seim to saxophonist David Liebman, bringing his music to the world's most renowned jazz festivals and concert halls.

Can Çankaya worked with renowned musicians such as Mulgrew Miller, James Weidman and Harold Mabern; he shared the same stage with Black Eyed Peas and The Cardigans. He released the albums Timeless with bassist Kağan Yıldız and Kimse Kalmadı with Erkan Oğur. His first solo album Flâneur came at the end of 2023.

Vocalist, composer and songwriter Dilek Sert Erdoğan released Moments, which is considered to be Turkey’s first original English “soul” album. The album quickly became one of the best-selling jazz albums of its time. In 2022, together with Rustam Rahmedov, she released 7 Hundred Yunus. This night, Dilek Sert Erdoğan will be on stage with 'A Tribute to Aretha Franklin' show.

The concerts will be repeated for all three groups. Each group will be given a wristband of a different colour. Wristbands should not be removed during the event so that they can be checked at the venue entrances. It is the responsibility of the audience to get to the venues and to arrive on time. Depending on venue capacity, last-minute tickets may be available at the door.

There is an age limit of 18 years-old at this event.

Cloakroom service is not available. Please refrain from bringing a bag larger than a handbag. Suitcases and large backpacks will not be permitted in the venue.

There is no parking available.

The event is seated (unnumbered).
