Jazz in the Parks, one of the traditional events of the festival, invites Istanbulites this summer to enjoy music in the open air.
Jazz in the Parks, one of the most enjoyable events of the Istanbul Jazz Festival, once again invites all music lovers to the parks this year. Successful music bands from Turkey and the world will take the stage in concerts spread across different corners of the city, transforming the parks into festival grounds for a day.
Brass Riot, one of the most popular bands on the European music scene in recent years, brought street music to the stage with two saxophones and a drum set, then played in front of more than 50,000 people during the climate strike in Berlin in 2021. Their debut album, Matschsafari, was released in 2018, followed by their second studio album, The Never Acting Story, recorded entirely live in 2023. Despite any song lyrics at all and the trio’s extraordinary party-ability, the fact that their sound could have remained political was considered as phenomenal. With their surprising melodies, energetic saxophone solos, catchy drum beats, and a new blend of punk, jazz and electronic music, Brass Riot is coming to the 31st Istanbul Jazz Festival this summer.
Before Brass Riot, Young Jazz Musicians of 2024 will take the stage.
