A jazz event unique to Istanbul

The sound of the ferry whistle, the cry of seagulls, the unique view of the Peninsula... This summer, The Jazz Boat once again invites festival enthusiasts to a joyful Sunday where jazz is added to the sounds of the Bosphorus.

In this indispensable event of the Istanbul Jazz Festival, each section of the ferry transforms into a different stage, offering the audience jazz, dance, and excitement on each stage. The cheerful music of the Istanbul swing ensemble Brassist will welcome the audience at Kabataş Pier. Throughout the tour, attendees will listen to early examples of jazz in the dramatic styles of Ragtime ve Dixieland with Karambola, accompany the irresistible rhythms of the Russian jazz group The Big Rhythm. DJ sets of Hakan Atala and Erdal Akkaş from Lale Plak, a jazz destination in Beyoğlu from the last century, and Shangri La with her eclectic performance will turn the deck of the boat into a dance floor.

There is no age limit for the event. Please arrive at the pier early to avoid possible crowds at the entrance. The audience will be able to board the ferry starting at 10.30. There will be staff at Kabataş Pier to direct participants to the Jazz Boat. Food and drinks will be sold at kiosks inside the ferry. The ferry will dock at Anadolu Kavağı at 12.30 and depart for Kabataş at 14.30. There are restaurants in Anadolu Kavağı where our audience can have lunch. Ticket prices do not include food and drinks on the ferry or lunch. Consumption of alcoholic beverages and smoking are prohibited in the indoor and outdoor areas of the ferry.
