Kerem Görsev, with his ever-dynamic stage performance and uplifting compositions from his latest album Clear Horizon, will perform at the 32nd Istanbul Jazz Festival.

One of the most important jazz musicians from Türkiye, pianist and composer Kerem Görsev adds another concert to his series of performances bringing together master figures of the jazz scene. He will present the joyful melodies from his latest album Clear Horizon to jazz enthusiasts at the festival.

Kerem Görsev’s enthralling musical world, brimming with melodies inspired by jazz standards, began with Bill Evans' Since We Met album. After listening to this album, he left the conservatory, where he had been studying violin, and immersed himself in the liberating realm of jazz. In 1987, he founded the Kerem Görsev Trio. During the ’90s, he composed his first pieces and released his debut album Hands & Lips in 1995. Since then, he has recorded 21 albums, the most recent of which was released last year. His productivity is attributed not only to his passion for jazz and virtuosity but also to his belief in jazz as the story of lived experiences. Indeed, each of his works tells a story, and each album is a sincere musical sharing of his life. Additionally, Görsev’s modern and deep acoustic jazz reflects the piano style of Oscar Peterson, the emotionality of his idol Bill Evans, and the rhythmic spontaneity of Erroll Garner.

His latest album Clear Horizon gathers eight compositions, inspired by the tranquil morning reflections on the waters of Lake Como, and takes its name from Alfred Hitchcock’s definition of happiness: a clear horizon, free of distractions or concerns, where only creativity exists. For this album, Görsev was accompanied by his long-time musical companions Ferit Odman, Volkan Hürsever, Barış Doğukan Yazıcı, and Engin Recepoğulları.
