One of the festival’s traditional events, the Jazz Boat sets sail once again for a musical journey through the cool waters of the Bosphorus.

Bringing together the joy of jazz with one of Istanbul’s most beloved icons, the Şehir Hatları ferry, The Jazz Boat is ready to welcome its passengers. On this energetic journey, passengers will be accompanied by Brassist, Kaan Arslan Co, and Kamucan Yalçın and Friends.

Kaan Arslan Co, founded by Kaan Arslan, will transport the boat to the 1920s with Dixieland and New Orleans blues. The vocalist and trumpeter Kaan Arslan, who reinterprets arrangements by legendary jazz musicians like King Oliver, Jelly Roll Morton, Louis Armstrong, and Bunk Johnson, will be joined by Burak Küçük on saxophone, Oğuz Alp Erdoğmuş on double bass, and Ertuğrul Kızmaz on guitar. In another section of the boat, the renowned musician Kamucan Yalçın and his band, Kamucan Yalçın and Friends, will take the stage with a repertoire of early jazz pieces, performing in a dramatic style that references Ragtime and Dixieland. The electrifying music of Brassist, a brass band from Istanbul reviving the New Orleans brass band tradition, will transform the boat into a dance floor. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring your best dance moves along with you!

There is no age limit for the event. Please arrive at the pier early to avoid possible crowds at the entrance. The audience will be able to board the boat starting at 10.00. There will be staff at Kabataş Pier to direct participants to the Jazz Boat. Food and drinks will be sold at kiosks inside the boat. The boat will dock at Anadolu Kavağı at 12.30 and depart for Kabataş at 14.30. There are restaurants in Anadolu Kavağı where our audience can have lunch. Ticket prices do not include food and drinks on the boat or lunch. Consumption of alcoholic beverages and smoking are prohibited in the indoor and outdoor areas of the boat.
