Waves, seagulls, the ferry horn, the joyful rush of crowds… We’re adding jazz to the soundtrack of Istanbul and gathering once again on Jazz Boat.

One of the festival’s most vibrant and beloved events,  Jazz Boat is ready to set sail. On this music-filled voyage along the Bosphorus, offering one of the world’s most breathtaking views and the city’s most distinctive sounds, some of Türkiye’s finest jazz artists will take over the deck with swinging tunes. The music will begin at the pier, and ripple across the Bosphorus.

The renowned musician Kamucan Yalçın and her band, Kamucan Yalçın and Friends, will take the stage with a repertoire of early jazz pieces, performing in a dramatic style inspired by ragtime and Dixieland. The electrifying music of Brassist, an Istanbul-based brass band reviving the New Orleans tradition, will transform the boat into a dance floor. Genç Caz+ participants Eggmann Trio, whose paths first crossed through the festival’s Genç Caz+ programme in 2023, will also be among the ferry passengers with their dynamic line-up featuring tenor saxophonist Kemal Ergün.

PLEASE NOTE

• Suitable for audiences of all ages.
• Under 18s may join the event in the company of an adult.
• To avoid congestion, please arrive at Kabataş Transfer Centre early. Boarding for Jazz Boat begins at 10.30. Staff will be available to provide directions.
• The ferry will dock at Anadolu Kavağı at 12.30 and depart for Kabataş at 14.30.
• Food and beverages will be available for purchase on board. There are also restaurants in Anadolu Kavağı where attendees may have lunch. These are not included in the ticket price.
• The consumption of alcoholic beverages and smoking are prohibited in both indoor and outdoor areas of the ferry.
• No cloakroom available.
• Please refrain from bringing a bag larger than a handbag. Suitcases and large backpacks will not be permitted on board.

ACCESSIBILITY

• Access to the pier via F1 Taksim-Kabataş funicular line, bus, tram (350 m), or by ferry from the Anatolian side and through the Bosphorus line.
• Ramp access is available at the ferry entrance.
• There are steps inside the ferry. Attendees using wheelchairs may require assistance from a companion.
• There is a City Lines paid car park at Kabataş Transfer Centre. Accessible parking spaces are available.
• There is no accessible toilet on board.
• Guide dogs are permitted on board.
• Attendees with disabilities are entitled to a 50% discount. To benefit from the discount, we kindly ask attendees with disabilities to email bilet@iksv.org with the event they wish to attend, the email address registered to their Passo account, and a copy of their disability ID card. The ticketing team will then create a reservation on Passo, and tickets can be purchased at the discounted rate under the ‘My Reservations’ tab. Discounted tickets may not be available once tickets are sold out.
