We’re taking over the city’s parks with music and dance for a day

The festival’s traditional event, Jazz in the Parks brings Istanbulites together with music in the parks every year, free of charge. Bands selected for the festival’s Young Jazz+ programme and Kumpania Algazarra, an international guest from Portugal, will take the stage, as Istanbulites gather under the trees on the most beautiful days of summer, soaking up the music and the joy of being together.

Born on the vibrant streets of Sintra, where celebration is a way of life, Kumpania Algazarra has grown into one of Portugal’s most powerful brass bands, blending ska, folk, reggae, Balkan melodies, Latin rhythms and funk into an irresistible, high-energy sound. Celebrating their 20th anniversary in 2024 and preparing to release a new album in May 2026, the band continues to travel the world, sharing their border-crossing music and turning every performance into a joyful celebration.
This summer, the festival invites Istanbulites to become part of that celebration, joining Kumpania Algazarra at Jazz in the Parks for an open-air gathering where rhythm, community and summer spirit meet.
